My name is James Devine. I am a father of three grown children and part of an extended family in NZ and the USA.

Based in Whangamata, living near my family and actively involved with Harbour Care trapping, Surf Lifesaving NZ, and Master’s Openwater Swimming group.

My chosen life path, for a little over twenty years, is Education. I started in 2000 and have taught in NZ and in California, been a basketball and baseball coach, done numerous Outdoor Adventure trips with students in NZ and
California, and extended my teaching help for students with Math with after school tutoring.

Recently I became qualified as a Life Coach in Wellness. At age 56, I am as fit, happy and healthy.
I am an effective coach in this way because of my many years as a competitive athlete in swimming, running, basketball and many years experience in the wilderness backpacking and cycling. I know how to look after my body and I know what works to keep myself in top physical shape. Furthermore, my education background and research into wellness and health, I can help others solve their health challenges to what is holding them back from returning to a healthier lifestyle.
